Designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings while enhancing comfort and livability, this Sellicks Beach home renovation strikes a balance between modern spatial planning and refined craftsmanship.
Through a carefully executed structural rebuild and a thoughtfully redesigned layout, we delivered a home transformation that now delivers openness, light, and a strong connection to its coastal setting. Project Overview – Rebuilding with Purpose
This project involved a substantial transformation rather than just a surface-level upgrade.
Approximately 85% of the original external walls were carefully removed and reconstructed.
We formed this new structure using high-performance stud framing, including double stud framing in key areas to improve strength, insulation performance, and long-term durability.
Structural Upgrades for Long-Term Performance
Structural integrity formed the backbone of this renovation.
The upgraded wall systems provide improved thermal and acoustic performance while allowing the home to meet modern construction standards.
The entire roof was replaced, with structural provisions built in to support a future second storey. This forward-thinking approach ensures the home can evolve with the owners’ needs without major disruption later.
Elevated Ceilings and Double Stud Framing
We increased the ceiling heights throughout the home, ranging from 2.8 to 3 metres.
This structural decision dramatically enhanced the sense of space, light, and volume, creating interiors that feel expansive yet grounded.
Higher ceilings allow natural light to penetrate deeper into the home while enhancing airflow and visual openness. Double stud framing supports insulation performance and adds robustness to the structure, contributing to year-round comfort and efficiency.

Reimagined Floor Plan and Indoor– Outdoor Flow
The original layout was redesigned to better suit modern family living.
The new floor plan connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas into a single, cohesive space. This open configuration improves circulation and creates a natural gathering point within the home.
Large openings lead directly to a newly constructed outdoor deck, positioned to capture sweeping views across the sea and rolling plains. This connection creates a seamless indoor–outdoor living experience that responds to Sellicks Beach’s coastal lifestyle.
Outdoor Living Designed for the Landscape
The deck was carefully located and oriented to maximise views while providing a functional extension of the internal living spaces. It supports entertaining, relaxation, and everyday use, reinforcing the home’s connection to its environment.

Interiors and Details
The aesthetics and it’s details are what define an interior experience of a home.
Here, we installed handmade and decorative cornices throughout, complemented by ornate ceiling roses that introduce character and refinement. Custom feature wall treatments add depth and texture, while bespoke sliding doors provide both functionality and visual interest.
The kitchen is anchored by a statement island bench, that we designed to serve as both- a practical workspace and a social focal point. Material selections balance durability with visual warmth, supporting daily use while maintaining a premium finish.
Comfort-Driven Features
To provide consistent comfort throughout the cooler months, we installed underfloor heating in bathrooms and rooms. These details enhance daily living and elevate the overall experience of the home without overwhelming the design.
